Rialto e-Cinema
The Rialto Observation Deck hosts approximately 450,000 visitors each year. In the RialtoVision Theatre, visitors experience the award winning film ‘Melbourne: The Living City’. During December 2003, the theatre was converted from 35mm film to digital.
The project included;
- Converting the theatre to a digital, automated projection system
- Transferring, restoring, and updating the feature film to High Definition.
The system specification emphasised the need for:
- Reliability
- Minimal support/servicing
- Clarity and quality of image resembling that of 35mm film
